ENGINEERING
Our Engineering Department is equipped with a 3D drawing system Autodesk Inventor and Magmasoft, a software for pouring simulation. In this way we can check filling and solidification of any casting before pouring and detect any possible critical area.
Besides designing pouring systems and carrying out simulations, our Engineering department is at complete
disposal of our customers to cooperate in cooengineering.
Our Engineering Department often collaborates with customers to improve and develop castings, working primarily on
optimizing the casting to meet the customer’s final requirements. In addition, with the collaboration of a renowned external
engineering firm, our Engineering Department is able to evaluate projects involving changes in material and geometry. In
fact, it is not uncommon for customers to request a switch from a welded structure to a cast iron casting.
- PROJECT PHASES FOR MATERIAL CHANGE:
- PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS OF PARTS: in this phase, FEM simulations of the two parts (welded structure and casting) are performed and the results are compared;
- MODIFICATIONS: in the event of significant differences in the FEM calculation, the casting is modified where necessary and the calculations are repeated until the objective is achieved;
- VALIDATION: the new casting layout is validated with a detailed FEM simulation;
- DRAFTING OF SPECIFICATIONS: based on the results of the detailed FEM analysis, the acceptance criteria for NDT testing are defined.
